For the 10th year in a row, New England has sent a team of students with their friends of different faith backgrounds to serve the city of New Orleans. We spent the days painting houses, working at an urban garden, replacing incandescent light bulbs with LED bulbs in peoples' homes for free, and building houses!
I loved getting to know Tina*, a buddhist student who grew in curiosity about Jesus as she learned about His heart for justice. This was her response to studying the passage of Jesus flipping the tables outside of the temple: "Jesus is amazing! He's like the OG social justice activist!!"
